Health and safety may not be the most fun task when organising your work’s corporate event. However, it is extremely important and needs to be done correctly to ensure that everyone within your organisation stays safe whilst enjoying their delicious food.
There are many documents which will need to be collected prior to your corporate event to satisfy your organisation’s health and safety procedures. (This may vary slightly from company to company.)
Check out what health and safety documents will help ensure you have a safe and secure event, in the below 5 bullet points.
1.
Risk Assessments
Ask your caterer for the following risk assessments and ensure they are thorough:
- Food Safety
- Health & Safety
- Fire
2.
Gas Certificate
If your caterer is using gas, ask them to provide you with a gas certificate, dated within the last 12 months.
3.
Public Liability Insurance
This is essential. Public liability insurance covers you and the caterer should an incident occur at the event and the cover should be for at least £5million.
4.
5* Food Hygiene Rating
Always look out for a 5* food hygiene rating, this is the best rating a caterer can receive. Ask for their food hygiene certificates too, to ensure that your chosen caterer has completed their appropriate training.
5.
PAT Test Certificate
Check that the caterer has a PAT test certificate if they are using electrical equipment. All their equipment should have been checked in the last 12 months.
